The Meltdown

I am not a YouTube surfer but am every appreciative of my friends who are. This gem captures the downfall of Wall Street with a nice catchy tune and beat. Learning + a fun song for your workout mix -- clearly a winner! The creator let the success got to his / her head and created a follow-up. While still catchy, the original is my favorite.

Deal Or No Deal

Sometimes a little cynicism can help you through the day. If your job is anywhere in or around the finance space, you can get a jolt of the news spun with the a cynical twist at the blog, Dealbreaker. Considering the current status of the market, many would suggest that the gloom and doom attitude is the only way to look at the market; while others will enjoy laughing at their friends who threw themselves into the financial fray in hopes of big bonuses and instead have big credit card bills. Anyway you slice you it, you get a little dose of Wall Street reality from that jaded older brother.

Because You Know at Least One

One of my guilty pleasure blogs is The Leverage Sellout. The author tries to capture the essence of the various stereotypes to be found in and amongst Wall Street from the consultant to the female investment banker to the CFA aspirants. No his stories are not true, but they are almost better than the truth as a stereotype is taken to the utmost extreme. While the author blogs sporadically, a new post makes for a significantly better day and at least one laugh... if only to be grateful to not have to work with a Wall Street stereotype.
